The view out my front window with.....
the dinette set that reminds me of my grandmother Bonnie,
the reflection of the tree in the mirrored glass,
and the combination of my favorite colors, yellow and green.
My calendar that tells me it's Spring.
The vintage TV trays we use for movie nights.
The cuckoo clock in my office.
The cheerful light streaming through the windows into my living room, with the ever vigilant Bubba watching out for intruders.
The two new stands that will hold plants to keep "Fern" company.
One of two hyacinths that I just planted.
My new wheelbarrow waiting for the dirt that my herbs will grow in.
And a sweet single rose, just because.
Be sure to find the happy in your everyday :)

Wow, I wish I had your view of the mountains. That dog is such a little sweetie!

Springtime in the mountains, beautiful! Always nice to receive a Just Because. Bubba waiting for the opportunity to bark to let you know he's guarding the home place. A happy post, Kathleen in Az
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kathleen :)
DeleteOh, those plant stands - I love them. they remind me of my grandmother. She must have had some, it's in my memories from somewhere...
ReplyDeleteBubba is cute all the time, but even when he's standing still (and standing guard), he exudes personality plus. Love your flowers, especially the rose. Looking forward to seeing what you plant. I have a cousin of your table!
ReplyDeleteSimply beautiful! I love your outdoor table and chairs...they are just so "happy"! Totally off topic but I ran across a series on Youtube that I have been watching and I thought you might enjoy it's called War Time Farm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUsU5s0ofYo and is a recreation of what it was like in Great Britain during WW2 and the role the farmers played in keeping the country afloat. The channel that it is on seems to have some other good video series also. Be blessed and have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI adore that series, Debbie! I've watched every time they put one out.
DeleteThank you!
Rue, everything is beautiful and elegant, and I absolutely love the reflections of the tree on the table in your first photo!!!

ReplyDeleteYou have wonderful things that keep you smiling. I love the outdoor table and jealous you can get ready for spring.
ReplyDeleteWe had some flurries yesterday but that is okay the birds are out full swing. My DH would give me one rose, that's all it takes I told him to make me happy.
This post makes me smile. Such lovely things to enjoy and the view is amazing. Life is good!
ReplyDeleteI paused to remind myself of the happy things in my life. Thank you for the happy post and sharing all your lovely things.

That top reflection photo, is simply beautiful. It encompasses so many aspects. And I love, love, love reflection pictures.
ReplyDeleteAnd your single white rose... Perfect, in every way. As I'm sure the man, who gave it to you, is...
This post also made me smile! My husband will often buy me flowers just because and I love that about him :-)
ReplyDeleteStill lots of snow here but looking at your pictures I'm sure spring will arrive one of these days...sigh
Have a great weekend

Pretty things! And i can almost SMELL that beautiful rose!!
ReplyDeleteOh, the blue sky in the tabletop is soooo cool! Bubba is hoping that deer comes back, isn't he? I bet it'll be awhile before he forgets that moment!
ReplyDeleteLove the cuckoo clock! And I can smell that rose! I hope it's the fragrant kind. It's gorgeous!
Take care and enjoy your weekend, Rue!
I can't stop thinking about your green lawn!! It' snowing here today. I like your view much better!
ReplyDeleteThe perfection in that one lovely rose! And your dinette set on the terrace takes me back to the house of a lovely woman I knew as a child. Hers was the first house I knew as a young teenager that made me realize a house could have charm.
ReplyDeleteI love a post that reminds me to find the happy in my day!
Green and yellow is one of the best color combinations ever! University of Oregon colors :) Go Ducks! I wanted to add that my grandma had almost the exact same set of vintage tv trays. I thought of her when I saw them! Hope you are having a great weekend Rue!
ReplyDeleteLoving that green grass...ours is still brownish! And yes...it is important to find the happy...it's the simple things! ;)
ReplyDeleteI hope your grass turns green soon, Donnamae!

ReplyDeleteWaffle post coming up some time this coming week...and, again, I say thanks for your permission....:)
Your honey is lovely for bringing you that pretty rose!! Your herbs will be fantastic in those galvanised troughs!!! xx
ReplyDeleteI spent part of last night looking through your blog after we crossed paths in the comments of A Country Farmhouse. I also found it amusing we both have Bubbas! My cat is actually named Barbossa, but we call him by his nickname, Bubba, most of the time. I love your decorating style and that you do what you want (thinking of the kitchen in particular) instead of going with the current trends. I am a fan of times gone by and can relate to you and your writings so am happy to have found you.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy to have found you too :)
DeleteYour happy things make me happy, too!
ReplyDeleteRu, I'm sure you know what my favorite on here is.....Yes, the single rose that your husband gave you. How pretty it is. I love the fact that your doggie keeps a watchful eye around your house, what a fantastic little guy. And your dinette set is very unique and pretty.
ReplyDeleteSo many wonderful things that keep you smiling every day.
