I had a visitor yesterday.
Thank goodness Wile E Coyote wasn't chasing him.
He stayed for a little while, probably having a lizard for lunch, which I'm glad I wasn't a witness to.
Then he sauntered up the driveway and then went to my neighbor's house.
Maybe for some ACME tea to wash his lunch down?
Who knows... but I'm thankful he stopped by ;)
Speaking of being thankful....
All of your encouraging comments on my last post really warmed my heart.
Truly.
Thanks to you, I have all sorts of ideas in my head and I feel better knowing that you enjoy reading even the most mundane things that go on here.
I hope you all have a beautiful, heartwarming day :)

Great shots! I keep my camera ready by the patio door, but doubt I'll get anything that interesting!

He looks regal and canny--love his "headpiece," or whatever it's called. Wild turkeys used to cut through the farm, and when they did, our bug population was vastly reduced (no "chiggers" or ticks in the field). Your photos are great!
ReplyDeleteI read, but didn't comment on your last post. Whatever you write is interesting to me, because whatever you do is different to what I do! If you hadn't written about your roadrunner, I wouldn't have seen one today, this week, month or probably this year! See... interesting to me!!! xx
ReplyDeleteRue, you brought memories of watching Bugs Bunny and the Road Runner cartoons on Saturday morning. Made me smile. I get a kick seeing Quail and little ones in my neighborhood, although always worried about the wee ones. Have you seen owls in your trees? Kathleen in Az
ReplyDeleteI think I aged myself by using those cartoon references LOL
DeleteI wish we got quail up here, but I've never seen one, except for at my mother's house down the hill. They like to nest in her pots.
We do have owls and I've heard them, but I've never seen one.

How exciting! I would love to see a Road Runner here. Did he make any sounds at all?
ReplyDeleteMy husband saw 3 baby red foxes this morning here. Thrilled him to death!
I didn't hear him make a sound, but I know they don't really say "beep beep", darn it! LOL
DeleteI saw one when we were vacationing in New Mexico and all I could think of was Wyle E. Coyote!
ReplyDeleteHow cool!
How cool! We have them here but we don't see them very often. They are so big! It's always kind of shocking.
ReplyDeleteHow cool is that?! I would have been laughing too hard to get a good picture, but you nailed it.
ReplyDeleteRidiculous! I have never seen one in real life...certainly not in my suburban backyard. Beep, beep!!
ReplyDeleteOh that birdie is a cutie. I have missed a few posts. Sorry about your fall. That could have been really bad. OUch I bet that did hurt.
ReplyDeleteMy advice on blogging.......just blog about what comes to mind and what's in your heart.
What a cute little fellow! I haven't seen one of those in years. Of course, it's been years since I was out west. :) Have a happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteWatch out for anvils!! Ha ha LOL
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHA!!!
DeleteI remember seeing road runners on a trip through AZ once! I did not see any on our last trip last October. I wonder why?
ReplyDeleteThey're actually really nervous birds, from what I've heard. I was really careful taking those pictures from the house so he didn't see me.
DeleteHow cool is that ....love it.We do not have Road Runners in Germany. That makes me smile...thanks for sharing.

The first time I saw a road runner up close and personal, I was so disappointed. They look so plain and boring, nothing like I was led to believe on TV...LOL. We saw them everywhere when we lived in TX...running back and forth!
ReplyDeleteI miss the roadrunners and the little quail families! When I lived in Sierra Vista, we had a little quail family that always visited us. They lived somewhere close, but not on our property. I think the things I don't miss are the snakes and the scorpions.
ReplyDeleteGreat shots! We get them everyone once in a blue moon...I guess I should see we SEE one every once in a blue moon. They are there, just in the brush and not usually near our streets/homes. :)
ReplyDeleteNow that's something I've never seen here...thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteToo funny. Just the other day a quilter had posted a roadrunner on her blog and I admitted in the comments that this was the first I'd heard of them aside from the cartoon!
