Almost

I'm almost ready to come out of hiding :)

I'm sorry to have been gone so long, but as you can see, it's been a little busy around here.

Scary stuff, huh?

Anyway, once I started painting the living room, I realized that I needed to paint all of the trim as well.

Then I realized that I couldn't paint the living room and leave the dining room as it was, so...

That was painted as well.

After that I had to paint the trim and corner built-ins too.

I'm sure you all know how that goes ;)

But don't worry, after it rained for over a week, eventually I got outside and noticed the changing leaves falling....

and went to a pumpkin patch and brought some pumpkins home.

So, Autumn has finally arrived with cooler weather and I'm almost done painting the last of the trim.

And I look forward to relaxing very soon.

Well, as much as I ever relax ;)

  22. I've got some painting to do when the carpenter finishes putting in new tile in our bathroom. I'm not look forward to it, it always seems to me that painting in smaller rooms is harder than big expanses of wall. And I know what you mean about one thing leads to another! Painting the woodwork is the hardest part of all, at least to me, You've done a fantastic job with your home, it's beautiful!

  23. Good Afternoon Rue, That's the thing with painting a room, once you start, it seems to lead from one thing to another. I don't mind painting walls.... but ooh the skirting boards are not one of my favourite jobs.
I am a fan of paint because I feel paintings, plates and other bits and bobs always catch the eye when hung on plain walls.
Being a bit of a 'nosey parker' I am looking forward to seeing the end result.
    Best Wishes to you.

  28. This post sure made me smile :)
I tend to do things like you.. one little project nearly always dominoes into another.

Yay... so happy that we are about to have some cooler weather. I'm looking forward to cozy fires, scrabble, and lots of book reading.

Love, love the darling cottage colors that you are using in your home!

Cute picture of you all, with your big ol' pumpkins.

    Smiles :)

  29. And this is why people tend to do everything all at once sometimes. If you get new carpet, the sofa looks like quap, then the curtains, and oh, the table looks dreary, and suddenly, you're packing up your significant other for a newer model.

Ok, maybe I went too far.

Looks like you may be ready to come out of the witness protection program, but bubba has other ideas it seems. :/

  45. It is so good to see you posting again! Missed you! I came over a few times over the past weeks, in the chance I'd just missed the notifications you'd posted! Sounds like you have been very busy with all the painting! I'm working on my son's room this week. Thought it would only take a few days, but I'll be lucky to finish by next week. Most of the battle is emptying his room, and then will be to put back his stuff... my precious packrat! lol! Can't wait to see your spaces, looks like they are coming along nicely... love the color! You and your man, look really happy... so glad for you! And your daughter is just as pretty as ever! Take care, and don't work too hard! :) ~Rhonda

  48. Love the pics - i read the post above and I only have a few things on my table which I move when we eat. The table is wood with an inlaid marble (or something or other) circle that you can turn to grab what you want and that is usually where I place things when we aren't eating. Love the photos by the way of your house and kids, etc. Always fun to see others' families and of course pumpkins!

Thank you so much for leaving a comment. It means so much to me that you took the time and I read each and every one. If you don't have a blog, look for a response under your comment. I try to get to them within a few days :)

For some reason, the comment box doesn't always show up, so if you want to leave a comment, replying to someone else's comment seems to work. Also, I've had to switch from safari to chrome in order to comment on blogger, so that might be the issue. If not, you can always reach me via email, located on my side bar. Thank you!
