The sun rises on an autumn day.
Clouds move in.
Snow comes.
It melts and takes the Autumn leaves that were barely hanging on with it.
The birds go on about their daily lives.
Bubba barks at the mailman.
Mini relaxes in the streaming sunlight.
Tomorrow comes again.
And life goes on.
So must we all.
Please stay safe.
Hug your loved ones.
And enjoy Thanksgiving.
For we all have something to be thankful for.
I'm certainly thankful for all of you :)

PS
Thank you for the birthday wishes.
They mean the world to me.
Truly.
Such gorgeous photographs. I love the little quail. We sure have had a lot of rain this fall, and we are enjoying it, and I guess it translates to snow up north. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. xoxo Su
ReplyDeleteBelated Birthday Greetings. Such a lovely series of photos of the little quail. woodpecker and your precious dogs.
ReplyDeletePretty images Rue. We had 7 inches of snow last weekend so it looks like winter has begun here in Chicago. Looking forward to spring already. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
ReplyDeleteHope your bday was extra special, Rue!
ReplyDeleteI love the story your pics say - to me it says "This is a peaceful place, where we take our time for courtesies, and we slow down enough to notice so much." I esp love the look on Mini's sweet face when you took that pic!
And the quail? I have never seen one in real life - that is so foreign and so COOL looking to me!
Have a blessed Thanksgiving week! Enjoy!
My dogs, and every dog in the hood, barks at the mailman too :) Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family :)

ReplyDeleteSo glad you're back to blogging! We had a snow that took down most of the last leaves on the trees too. I'm thankful for you and all of my friends!
ReplyDelete~Blessings,
Jan ♥
It does indeed, Rue. As for your four-years-from fifty birthday, congratulations and I'll tell you what I said to my daughter once: you know the store in malls called Forever Twenty One? I just wish I could still shop at Forever Forty Five!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Lovely post. We do indeed have much to be grateful for, and cultivating an attitude of gratitude is important.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Thanksgiving.

ReplyDeleteI have no idea, Kathleen. I tell them all the time that they're a cliche LOL

aahh, the red-headed woodpecker! This little guy makes me smile every time. You know, Rue, you take a lot of pictures of your home, but I don't think you know how talented you are when taking pictures of nature. These pictures are wonderful, and I enjoyed them so much. Maybe because I love nature so much. The snow is beautiful around your neck of the woods. And this picture of the birdhouse hanging from the tree is sweet.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, Rue. I'm so thankful I met you in blog land this year.
love, ~Sheri
I've never seen that first bird! Beautiful one. What is it?

ReplyDeleteLovely images, Rue. Have a happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteI missed you and your beautiful view on the world and your gentle words - welcome back, my friend xoxo
ReplyDeleteOne of the shots of your stone walkway made them look like copper! Love the birds. Is the one a quail?
ReplyDeleteI love the beautiful shots of your home, just gorgeous. All 3 of my dogs bark at whoever comes to the house. The UPS guy, the mailman, my mother-in-law, you name it :-) I love that shot of the quail. It made me a little homesick as I've never seen a quail here in Kentucky. Very common in Oregon, not so much here. They are beautiful birds though.
ReplyDeleteYour home is such a lovely refuge. Thanks for sharing it with us. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely post with beautiful photo's.
ReplyDeleteHope all is well with you.

ReplyDeleteHi, Rue. Take a look at the FQ Story Historic Home Tour and Holiday Street Fair face book page. The house on the page has a similar look, but it's windows look like they might be replaced and the roof looks like it has been replaced with a 40s style.
