Goodbye, hello, and spoiled rotten

Alas, after 12 years, my apple computer died.

It was a Friday afternoon when I was told I needed to upload a new server and when I did, the internet stopped working.

After a couple of hours of trying to fix it, I finally called Apple.
It turns out that my computer was so outdated that there was nothing they or I could do, except buy a new one. Sigh....

I have to say though, 12 years is a long life. I never had a PC that lasted more than 4 years, so of course I went and purchased another Apple product.

And here she is....

Isn't she pretty?

It's definitely going to take some getting used to, but I'm sure it'll be fine.

Now, because I'm sure my computer story probably bored you to tears, I'll give you a dash of cute in the form of Bubba, who is just a touch spoiled.

He made himself at home on top of a blanket that was folded on the daybed that I also use as a couch in my den, after one of my daughter Annie's friends had stayed the night.

And what does a momma do? Cover him up with a throw of course.

It's not like I could tell him no. Look at that face!

Snug as a bug in a rug and very spoiled rotten :)

Until next time,
rue

  1. I need a new laptop, and I would love to switch to Apple (but learning curves scare me to pieces). Yours looks very enticing, though. Bubba looks so adorable!

    1. It's actually a lot easier than a PC. It takes some getting used to, but if I can do it, anyone can lol

  2. Hi Rue! I finally got a chance to stop by after you very nice comment on Jewel Box® Home! Really happy to see you back to blogging and love the new title 'An Old Fashioned World'. I especially like the content and direction of your blog. Put's a smile on my face. I think your approach to blogging is spot on. I learned so many blogging lessons from the burn-out story behind 'Young House Love'. Anyway, I love Mac's and consider myself somewhat skilled in the digital art of Mac computers. I think of Mac's as like automatic cars, whereas PCs are like stick shifts. I use a MacBook Pro, but really want a MacBook Air. Not in my budget right now, but someday. I have never heard of a Mac lasting 12 years! Loved hearing about your Mac computer warrior! But love, love, love your new Mac!!! Will be stopping by again soon.

    1. I'm so glad you came over for a visit! Thank you for saying that about my blog :)

The Macbook Air was a lot cheaper than the Macbook pro, which is why I go it. My biggest issue is getting used to the way this one works compared to the old one, but I'm getting there ;)

Thank you so much for leaving a comment. It means so much to me that you took the time and I read each and every one. If you don't have a blog, look for a response under your comment. I try to get to them within a few days :)

For some reason, the comment box doesn't always show up, so if you want to leave a comment, replying to someone else's comment seems to work. Also, I've had to switch from safari to chrome in order to comment on blogger, so that might be the issue. If not, you can always reach me via email, located on my side bar. Thank you!
