Quite a few of you have been a little curious about that blue car in front of my house, so I thought I'd introduce you to him.
All my cars are boys ;)
This is Clarence.
He's a 1954 Ford Crestline.
An odd name for a car, I know, but I got him during Christmas a little over four years ago and he was a mess.
He reminded me of the angel without his wings in the movie 'It's a Wonderful Life' and the name stuck.
I took care of his needs and now he's not as much of a mess as he was.
In fact, I would say that his 'short soars'.
My mom told me that saying when I was a kid.
Apparently, it means that he runs well and fast.
And he does.
He has a 1988 Mustang 302 in him, so he should ;)
I am not a slow driver.
Sadly though, Clarence is looking for a new owner, because I don't have a big enough place to keep him sheltered.
They didn't design 1930s garages for 50s cars, if you know what I mean.
So, eventually someone else will love him and hopefully give him a nice, cozy place to sleep.
He's a good boy and he deserves love.
Doesn't every old thing?

OMG, I want him so bad. Clarence is my Dad's name and I once owned a 1950 Ford - my first car. Clarence is so beautiful and if I weren't retired I'd be so glad to give him a home.
ReplyDeleteYour dad has a great name!
DeleteI can only hope he goes to someone that would like him as much as you do :)
Wow! It is in such good condition now, Rue I love the color! I hope you find a buyer who will love it very soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Pat. I hope so too :)

He's beautiful, and I love his name.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Su :)
DeleteClarence is in fantastic shape! I hope he gets a new owner that loves him the way you do! :)

He is a handsome fellow! :)
ReplyDeleteI have a 1920's garage. I hear you loud and clear! Great car.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't think anything would fit in there LOL
DeleteThanks!
He's a beauty though! I'm sure you will always remember your time together fondly. Last summer we sold our two scooters that were a gift from my dad because our small 2 car garage had become a two scooter garage and we could scarcely get around in it. We will always have our memories though! ;)
ReplyDeleteVery true, Jen! I will always have fond memories of him :)

Clarence is very handsome! How fun it would be to drive around in him. I hope he finds a good home soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's a blast to drive him, Penny. People always stop me and ask about him. Hopefully soon one of those someones will snap him up ;)
DeleteMy cars have always had boy names too! My first was Satan (yep, think he was a boy!), my second car was The Bat Mobile (its memory STILL reminds me of the bat mobile), and my third was a boring, family-style sedan that I named Milton. I'm currently on my 4th car, which I haven't named yet. Might have to give that one some thought :)
ReplyDeleteSatan? Bat Mobile? That's hilarious! Milton is perfect for a sedan lol
DeleteRue, my cars are always girls (started with my Dad naming them). But Clarence is pretty special. Hope he finds a new home that will love him like you do!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Thank you, Linda :)

Hi Rue, Clarence is very handsome..I don't think he will have a hard time finding a new owner to love him. I would imagine it would be tons of fun to drive him around.!! Love the blue upholstery in the back seat.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting my blog.
Julie
Thank you, Julie. He really is fun to drive :)
DeleteRue, what a gorgeous car…so handsome! I hope that Clarence finds the perfect home soon….xo
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lidy! I'm so glad to hear from you :)

Clarence is a beauty...*swoon*. I'm sure he'll find an owner who loves him as much as you do.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope so, Melanie :)
DeleteBeautiful! We had to sell our old car because we didn't have shelter for it and the squirrels kept scratching the top of the car. We tried a car cover and they ate wholes through that.
ReplyDeleteThose are some determined squirrels! I have a car cover for him too, but since I drive him all the time it's a pain to take it on and off.

Ohhhhhhhh I love him and wish he could be mine!
ReplyDeleteThank you! :)
DeleteHi Rue, Clarence is beautiful. I love his color and looks to be in really great shape. You took such good care and I hope he finds a new home that will give this old FORD the love it deserves.
ReplyDeleteThe seats are so spacious ~~ I imagine it is so much fun to drive.
Hugs, CM
Thank you, Celestina! He really is fun :)

I'm writing down Clarence's details to tell my husband. He looked at it the other day in your sunrise (or was it sunset?) pictures. I think he named its make wrong. What beautiful upholstery too. Hope he finds a good home. "His short soars." That's a new one on me.
ReplyDeleteLet me know what he thought :)
DeleteI'm not sure where she got that saying, but she says it came from when she was a teenager. No one I know has ever heard it before. She's got a few other sayings that are odd as well.
Clarence is one handsome dude! Love his color too!
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Thank you, Shelia!
