The other day, when I was dusting, I did some rearranging of my shelves in the living room.
Four hours later.....
What?! It takes time!
Okay, I'm kind of OCD, so shoot me :p
Anyway, I realized that I needed a new place for quite a few things.
You see, my mom decided she didn't want a lot of her glass animals, when she moved, and so she gave them to me. Not really knowing what to do with them at the time, I kind of just shoved them on shelves until I decided what I wanted to do.
One of the groups came from my aunt, that gave her a bird a year for six years, and because I felt so bad for cooping them up for so long, I gave them a new place to live, with a view.
I figured that even if they couldn't fly, at least they could enjoy the outdoors from a window ;)
So I migrated them to my office.
They seem pretty happy up there.
Of course my favorite is the green one, but don't tell the others ;)

I bet they're gorgeous when the sun shines through them!
ReplyDeleteOmgosh, I was thinking the same thing. Perfect place for the birds. Kathleen in Az
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and the perfect spot for them!
ReplyDeleteI love your little birdies, Rue. I am new to your blog, but you will find out that birds hold a special place in my heart. So when I saw the birds on your window sill, I smiled big.
ReplyDeleteAnd the green one is my favorite too, but that blue comes in a close second.

ps dusting is one of my least favorite chores. :~)
Those are really sweet, and they look quite content up there. I just love what colored or any glass can do to a room, in the right spot.

ReplyDeleteI'm partial to the green one too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect place. The outside light just seems to make them glow. I've never seen glass birds like these. Pretty to have such a collection. Your home has some wonderful detail. Someone sure put a lot of thought into that home and the windows. :D

Lovely a perfect place. My stepmother had a crystal handing from a window and the colors that reflected on the wall were so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great place for those birds to roost! ;)
ReplyDeleteYour birds are adorable! Love the look with the sunshine!
ReplyDeleteI love glass collections like that. The birds are terrific, the giftee and giftor are loved, and the sunshine shining through the colors will be beautiful. Perfect location for them too.
ReplyDeleteLove the birds! So pretty, especially in the window with the sunlight streaming through them. And speaking of....love that window. It is gorgeous!!! Have a lovely rest of the week.
ReplyDeleteThey do look quite happy in their new home. And, I love that window.
ReplyDeleteCute birdies!
ReplyDeleteThey look extra pretty in the window, reflecting the light outside! I never realized how many knick knacks I accumulated over the years until I moved. I donated some to Goodwill, but I did move a lot with me ;)
ReplyDeleteThey look really good on the window, the light shining through them brings the colours to life and they are safe there too, but easy to see and enjoy! Perfect!! I take ages moving things around too, you are not the only one! xx
ReplyDeleteYou know, what lucky little feathered friends to have you to attend to them. I have several birds too-I am definitely neglecting them-moving them to a brighter spot for certain!
