Music break 7


Fats Waller

Born Thomas Wright Waller.

He laid the groundwork for modern jazz piano, but he was also an excellent entertainer.

He was so famous and fabulous that in 1926, that he was actually kidnapped to play at one of Al Capone's birthday parties.

With so many wonderful songs, it was hard to pick one, so I chose two.

    I bet the kidnapping was a good story to dine out on for a long time! I love listening to him singing Ain't Misbehaving and gosh just look at him play that piano!

    That was wonderful, Rue! Just what I needed to listen a music break on this busy Monday afternoon! Yes, we enjoyed the rain up there, the kids were running and playing in it, and that antique store you recommended was amazing! Have a lovely day!

    Hello Rue, I too love music and this was a very nice change from so many posts. I remember the songs too. Fat's Waller was awesome for his time. This kind of music never gets old.

    i must be an old soul.
    i can't ever put into words how hearing these songs makes me feel. and i mean the REAL songs from way back then. true recordings. like the ones on your post.
    i just could listen to them always. they're as if my hot tired feet are slipping into cool comfortable shoes.... and there's a ceiling fan going... and time stands still.
    sometimes in that first moment... even better than being barefoot if you know what i mean!
    anyway.

    Oh, I have so many favorite singer/piano players....Fats Domino, Ray Charles, Little Richard...I am a product of teen in the 50's, so I love all that music best of all....
