The stare down


This weekend I decided to make shish kabobs.

So I got out the 1970s skewers that my mom gave me...


and as I was loading the meat and vegetables on...


I suddenly felt like I was being watched.





I'm guessing they wanted some.

What do you think?

    Rue, those skewers are so unique; I've never seen any quite like them. The shish kabobs look delicious. And your doggies are too funny.

    Awwwww....aren't they just the sweetest!! Your shish-kebabs look delicious, Rue! We kept an eye out to see you and Bubba this past weekend too, down by the square, but we went earlier! Glad you enjoyed your holiday weekend!

    Because I know that you love such things! I wonder if your skewers are in fact something that are similar to skewers, but were used in Victorian times to decorate joints of roasted meat and so. I just wondered because they are so wonderfully decorative. I might be totally wrong and I hope that you will forgive me for the intrusion about them! Might be worth looking into though! xx

    What sweethearts! And good company! I get flustered with too many people in the kitchen while I'm trying to cook, but dogs are different, I miss them when they're not in there to step over. At least yours watch you from your breakfast nook!

    And yes, those vintage skewers are fabulous!

    Who could resist those puppy eyes?! Not moi. I'm afraid I would have given them their fill and gone hungry. Not that that would be a bad thing. I could afford a few pangs of hunger now and then. :/

    I think you were being watched! If I was standing there I'd be watching too and hoping you'd share some with me. I haven't made kabobs in such a long time and now I want some. I haven't even turned on my grill this summer because it doesn't seem like summer., more like a monsoon with no sun.

    I want some! LOL doesn't matter what I'm doing, if in the kitchen, I've got an extra pair of eyes with me. No telling hoe many times I've tripped over Autumn. Nicholas is usually hiding under the sofa.

    So cute! Once cooked I would have had to share. Your apron was sent out yesterday and is slated to arrive no later than Monday. I do have a tracking number if a problem arises. :)
