This weekend I decided to make shish kabobs.
So I got out the 1970s skewers that my mom gave me...
and as I was loading the meat and vegetables on...
I suddenly felt like I was being watched.
I'm guessing they wanted some.
What do you think?
;)

ReplyDeleteAwwwww....aren't they just the sweetest!! Your shish-kebabs look delicious, Rue! We kept an eye out to see you and Bubba this past weekend too, down by the square, but we went earlier! Glad you enjoyed your holiday weekend!
ReplyDeleteAw, they're being so still while they beg...

Hi Rue, glad to see you're back blogging! I enjoyed your blog before, your beautiful home, and sweet spirit! I have decided to give it another shot too! Not sure if you remember me, I was one the old RMS crew, who blogged under Scooterblu's Whimsy for years, then Ramblings of a Southern Girl. I'm back under RofaSG, but with a slightly new direction. Wow, there is so much too learn and update, alot has changed in blogging in just a year! I did enjoy browsing over your new blog. I adore your home, especially the kitchen, and your two little companions are precious! Take care, I'll be back! :) ~Rhonda
ReplyDeleteBecause I know that you love such things! I wonder if your skewers are in fact something that are similar to skewers, but were used in Victorian times to decorate joints of roasted meat and so. I just wondered because they are so wonderfully decorative. I might be totally wrong and I hope that you will forgive me for the intrusion about them! Might be worth looking into though! xx
ReplyDeleteHa ha! You were surrounded! Lord those skewers look so delicious with the meat and veggies! I'm sure it was wonderful. Hope you had a great 4th.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
What sweethearts! And good company! I get flustered with too many people in the kitchen while I'm trying to cook, but dogs are different, I miss them when they're not in there to step over. At least yours watch you from your breakfast nook!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes, those vintage skewers are fabulous!
Dewena
Ya... Rowdy has to be out on the deck with my husband any time there is grilling going on. Love your kabob sticks! WOwee Zoweee!

So cute!
ReplyDeleteThose skewers are fabulous. I would find a way to have them on display all the time.
I'm staring at those skewers...I'm sure the pups are staring at the kabobs! Those skewers are wonderful! ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd did they get some? They look delicious and so beautifully presented.
ReplyDeleteAccckkk! Please ignore any and all misplaced modifiers. Your pups are cute, but they don't look delicious. They may, however, be beautifully presented.
DeleteBAHAHAHA!!!! I almost deleted your comment by accident, because I was laughing too hard LOL
DeleteLOL! adorable.
ReplyDeletei can't think of ANYBODY i'd rather have watching me.
and vee.
well vee is cracking me up.
oops. just ended with a preposition. see. it's catching.
i find vee's comment most up with the cracking.
beautiful delicious looking skewers by the way!
Well, that looks about right. I think I would be right there with them, staring you down. How'd those kabobs taste? Mouthwatering delicious I bet.
ReplyDeleteThank you for today's giggle. They do look like you are just waiting to drop something!
ReplyDeletetoo cute, mommy! LOL
ReplyDeleteHa! Know the feeling well! We also had shush kabobs for the fourth! Loved them! Too funny with the dogs!
ReplyDeleteWho could resist those puppy eyes?! Not moi. I'm afraid I would have given them their fill and gone hungry. Not that that would be a bad thing. I could afford a few pangs of hunger now and then. :/
ReplyDeleteI think you were being watched! If I was standing there I'd be watching too and hoping you'd share some with me. I haven't made kabobs in such a long time and now I want some. I haven't even turned on my grill this summer because it doesn't seem like summer., more like a monsoon with no sun.
ReplyDeleteAwwww...so cute. I always call what little Layla does during my cooking as "The Kitchen Dance". She never gets stepped on in spite of me whirling and twirling.
ReplyDeleteBoy...those kebobs look great!

Okay, we are having that next weekend! That looks so good!
ReplyDeleteWell, who wouldn't want some? We also put tomatoes on our skewers.
ReplyDeleteAmalia

I want some! LOL doesn't matter what I'm doing, if in the kitchen, I've got an extra pair of eyes with me. No telling hoe many times I've tripped over Autumn. Nicholas is usually hiding under the sofa.
ReplyDeleteWhat cute pictures of the pups! Love them :) I love your skewers, such character! And I have to use plain, old boring wooden skewers. And those kabobs look YUMMY! Have a great day Rue!
ReplyDeleteHA HA HA....that is too funny!!! Bless their hearts....I hope you gave them a treat! Hugs!!
ReplyDeleteLOL...love it! The pups are so cute and the kabobs look divine! Have a wonderful Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteHow do you get anything done with all that cuteness around? They are adorable and those kabobs look delicious!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Once cooked I would have had to share. Your apron was sent out yesterday and is slated to arrive no later than Monday. I do have a tracking number if a problem arises. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Rue, they are just precious. The picture of the sweetie on the table is priceless. I love it!
