My second favorite room

I say second, because my favorite room is always the kitchen, but gosh.... I think my living room is in a tie with it, in this house.

In fact, I love this room so much, that when I pass through it going into another, I'll stop and just look at it for a minute.

Depending on what time of day it is, the colors of the room change.

Before I get the question of why I don't have rugs.... Mini is a rescue dog and she doesn't understand the difference between grass and rugs. My dogs are more important to me than any decor, so my rugs are stored for now.

Anyway, I didn't say a lot in this post, because I wanted you to enjoy the serenity of the room, like I do, but if you have any questions at all, I'll be happy to answer them.

I hope all of you had a lovely weekend :)

xo,
rue

I hope I didn't upset anyone with my last post, but I always speak my heart, especially when I'm passionate about something. The one thing you can always count on with me is my honesty, but I never want to hurt anyone's feelings, so if I did, I truly apologize.

  1. Hi, Rue...I am so glad you are enjoying your home. Your room looks very pretty.
I remember back in the My Peanut Butter and Jelly Life days of the house you fell in love with...did you buy that one?

  2. Lot of gorgeous going on there! I can completely sympathize with the rug situation, but in my case it's kitties. ;-) Oh well, such is life. Have a wonderful day!

  4. Now I know why it's your second favorite room. It's so pretty. I agree my favorite room is my kitchen too. It is a very warm and inviting room, love the ceiling, doors and everything else in the room. I get the rug thing having had dogs myself.

  5. Rue, this room is a little slice of heaven! I radiates calm and sunshine. I also noticed the landscapes over the buffet. Very pretty. The book, 'Put your Best foot forward' also caught my eye. It is so much fun having you back and getting a peak back into your lovely style! Have a good week, Rue! Hugs, Genevieve

I totally get the rug thing.

    1. The phone might work, but it's a plug in so not in this house. One day, I'd like to have it converted to one that will :)

  8. Oh, Rue! I love your living room. All the little nooks and crannys and the little window in the front door. Your vintage furnishings look so pretty and just perfect in your house. I'm so proud for you and I know your little home is just singing happy songs because you've rescued her.

  12. What a charming room filled with such unusual architectural details! It's so cozy with your conversation grouping around the fireplace and the nice large window to let the sunshine in. You've got so many lovely pieces of furniture and yeah!, you didn't paint them white! Maybe it's the midwesterner in me, but I think wood furniture adds so much warmth to a room. Thanks for taking us on a tour of your 2nd favorite room!

  17. What a beautiful room! I don't have rugs either Rue. I have allergies and it also is easier to clean without rugs in the way.

  19. It is a great room! I think that the fact that you could not choose one room over another is a good thing, because that means that you have them exactly as you would wish them to be! xx

  24. What an inviting room. I am totally jealous of your wood floss. This house is mostly carpet and I hate it but I can't afford to replace it right now. 😞

  35. Rue, just poking around your blog, and I'm loving every minute. Your home is full of unique charm. I could live in the living room. Your French chairs, the light stream in through the windows, and all the vintage / antique details in vignettes are calling out to me.

Thank you so much for leaving a comment. It means so much to me that you took the time and I read each and every one. If you don't have a blog, look for a response under your comment. I try to get to them within a few days :)

For some reason, the comment box doesn't always show up, so if you want to leave a comment, replying to someone else's comment seems to work. Also, I've had to switch from safari to chrome in order to comment on blogger, so that might be the issue. If not, you can always reach me via email, located on my side bar. Thank you!
