Questions

Hello all :)

Since it's been a rainy and kind of dreary day here today, I've been thinking.

I don't know about you, but my mind always wanders on days like this, and especially when I go about my day, doing laundry, dusting and other household chores.

What? You don't do laundry on your dining room table? ;)

So anyway, I was wondering... do you have any questions for me?

Sometimes, I feel like I just flap my mouth at all of you and I wanted to know if you were curious about anything.

I realize that this could open up a can of worms for me, but I will answer as best as I can ;)

If not, that's okay too.

My question for you though is....

Did you know that I answer you back on your comments when you leave them? I sit down and do it about twice a week.

I just wanted to make sure you knew that :)

I also want you to know that I truly enjoy hearing from all of you. You've been so kind to me since I've been back and it warms my heart, much more than you know.

So I just wanted to say...
thank you.

Thank you so very much.

It's so good to be back.

xo,
rue

  1. I really enjoy seeing your new home. It is full of charm and warmth--just like you! I'm so glad you're back. I'm raising my hand with a question--how many square feet is your house?

  2. I was just wondering, now that you're a single girl again, if you are working and where? What would be your dream job? I picture you in an antique shop and you would know the complete history of each item. Maybe an antique shop would be a little too tempting for you because you'd probably buy more than you sold! : )

  3. And it's so nice to have you back, my old friend!

  4. In my previous house I used the dining room table to fold and sort. Now that it's just me. I use the bed and I'm right by the dresser so quick process. And, I still love that car. It makes me happy every time I see it in a post.

  5. Rue, you should take these pics of that gorgeous old blue car and link it to Sally's Blue Monday Linky Party!

    Have a blessed week. : - )

  6. Hi Rue,
Since I came upon your new blog, I have been wondering about your son? I know you had said in your previous blog that he was joining the service (if I remember correctly???). You have mentioned your sweet daughter Annie a couple of times now and was hoping and praying your son is safe and happy? What made you choose Arizona? I hope those aren't too personal. :) Also, one last one.....where do you get your vintage clothing goodies? Do you have a good online source, or hand-me-downs from your mom? Just curious. I love looking at your beautiful home and so glad you happy and back at blogging!

  7. You have such a lovely view from your little outdoor table, Rue! I'm looking forward to learning more about you as you answer questions!

  8. I did know that you answer comments - and I go back and read your answers! I don't answer comments on my blog, but I do sporadically answer them by e-mail as long as the blogger isn't a no reply blogger. So I do answer you sometimes! I don't want to ask you anything, not because you aren't interesting, but because I think very much that it is for the blogger to share what they want to. I will look forward to reading more and finding more out about you though as time passes and as you have things to share! xx

  9. I don't really want to ask you questions either. It's a personal thing, as I like my privacy and don't want people asking me questions. :-)

I love your stone stacked wall, at least that's what it looks like and your wooden fencing. I love reading about your lovely home and what you are doing. You inspire me.

I fold laundry on the bed. The bed is high and just the right height for folding, plus the only surface large enough in this little cottage to do so.

I hope your week is a good one.

  10. Nope, I'm another 'bed folder' since most everything goes in our bedroom or bathroom, that is the easiest place to fold laundry. (You have to go through our bathroom to even get to the closet) the only time I have laundry that goes to another room is when we have had company.
Hope you are having a wonderful week.

  11. I laughed when I saw the laundry on the dining room table. I live in a 1922 bungalow, so laundry folding space is minimal in my home - table or sometimes the bed. Enjoy the rain - it looks so peaceful.

  14. I don't have any questions for you (right now) but I will say that your blog is one of my favorites and I'm truly enjoying getting to know you. I reply on every comment on my blog, too but I don't think anyone ever goes back and reads my replies. I wish Blogger would somehow automatically connect our replies to people's emails. I do personally email someone if they have a question for me though, because I know they won't see the answer on my blog. Hope you have a lovely day, Rue! Even though I have a bad cold right now, I need to get up and do a little bit of housework and laundry. My back is killing me from sitting for so long.

  15. I tried answering comments by replying on my google blog and realized they aren't notified that I've replied. I'm not sure why google gives us the option to reply if the recipient of the reply doesn't know they've gotten an answer. I do love reading your blog and I'm so happy that you are back!

  16. No questions, really.
I do know that you answer comments on your own blog...most of us just don't have the time to go back to a blogger a second time so I always go to their blog to answer and leave comments. There's not enuf hours in the day to visit all the blogs I want to...hence I never go back to the same one twice in one day.
I hope you are enjoying blogging again. So glad you decided to start again.

  18. I've so enjoyed reading your blog posts. And since you asked, I do have a couple of questions regarding your furniture. That glass fronted cabinet in your living room....is there a story behind it? It's quite beautiful. As a matter of fact, I'd be interested in any back stories to your furniture. I really find it fascinating where people "get" their furniture...gifted, inherited, thrift stores...that's the fun part of telling the story of a life! ;)

  19. Oh My Gosh! I can't believe I found you! How many times do you read that a week? :)
I was at Becky's Sweet Cottage Dreams and saw that someone named Rue commented.... I thought... no! It can't be!
So I clicked on over .... and here you are. I'm so happy to see you back and blogging. I'll be going back thru your posts
    trying to catch up. :)
    Welcome back!!! I missed you!

  20. I do a lot of thinking when I'm ironing ..... it's therapeutic. I don't mind ironing on rainy days but it's good to be out when the weather is better ........

    Have a good week.

    All the best Jan

  21. Hello Rue. I have two questions.
    1. How in the world did you find such a cute, cute, cute house? Can you tell I love it? As someone who's read you for many years, this house so fits you. The nooks and crannies, it's you.. But, the setting, the look, how did you find it?
    2. Your kitchen has a stainless lab table - does that work well for a work table? I've seen them but didn't know if they were really doable for a "real person's" kitchen as opposed to a staged kitchen.
Keep up the cute pics - oh, and a 3rd question. What will your new vehicle be??
    So happy you're blogging again.

  22. Hey pretty lady! I have lots of questions and I know you are honest to a fault. Still, I never pry. Not even with my kids. However...would love to know what state/town you are in now. Ha!!! I know it sounds warm. Where in the world is Carmen (Rue) Sandiego!!!

I do towels and linen closet folding on my dining table and clothes on my bed. Always in view of the TV! So boring!

Had a peek at your last post. Your living room IS GORGEOUS! Mine doesn't compare but I think our taste is quite alike.

Thank you so much for your comment on my last blog about my sadness at my daughter leaving home. Your daughter is so young. I guess they just want to have that independence. Maybe we did good raising such strong young women.

  23. Hello Rue, found you through Cozy Little House. I live in Phoenix and I can understand why you don't want to live there. Truly. I think I know what town you live in and it's beautiful. I love the mountain views and its just a drive up there. Wow, your house is so unique. From reading your blog and your friends comments, the house suits you. Kathleen in Az

  27. I just have one question. Can I buy your house??

As for the comments, I don't go back to a blog to see if there was a response unless I asked a specific question. I'm on Wordpress and use a plugin so when I reply to someone they get an email notification. I guess blogger doesn't have that feature. I think most people don't return to a blog to see if there was a response. Maybe an email response would be better?

  28. HI Rue. When you comment on my Blogger blog I get an email notification and can reply to you by email. I assume you get them, since I sometimes get a follow-up reply from you. I don't go back to blogs to look for replies immediately because there are just too many blogs I read (I always try to return bloggers' visits) for me to do that. I do, however, often go back and look for replies to my comments the next time on a particular blog. I'm not sure why there are comments above from people about Blogger not allowing replies via email. Perhaps it has to do with Google+?? Anyway, probably more info than you wanted. Hah! No questions for you, except I did notice someone mentioned Ohio. I lived in Columbus for 14 years. Lots of great friends back there! Have a great week. xxx ~ Nancy

Thank you so much for leaving a comment. It means so much to me that you took the time and I read each and every one. If you don't have a blog, look for a response under your comment. I try to get to them within a few days :)

For some reason, the comment box doesn't always show up, so if you want to leave a comment, replying to someone else's comment seems to work. Also, I've had to switch from safari to chrome in order to comment on blogger, so that might be the issue. If not, you can always reach me via email, located on my side bar. Thank you!
