Autumn random

Morning shadows.

Carving pumpkins.

An ever watchful Bubba.

Togetherness.

The joy of being able to close the door between the kitchen and the den, while someone watches an annoying tv show ;)

Snow one day...

Gone the next.

And as of today, I'm 4 years away from 50.

Yikes!

Anywho...

Just a little glimpse into my everyday life this season ;)

  2. Happy Birthday from a fairly new follower. Love "your" kind of blog. Personal and unpretentious. And if it makes you feel any better, I am 7 years PAST 50, so count your blessings. I would love to be 46 again (feels like I just was!) - Cheryl

  4. Your house is just so cute and cozy, I love it - and that Bubba - I want to pick him up and squish him!!! But more importantly - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, RUE!!! And I'm right ahead of you - 3 years from 50 - yikes. My daughters and I have a plan to go to Paris for my 50th. It's time to start throwing change into a big jar.

Big hugs and have a wonderful birthday - xoxo

  10. Love your photos...and a very happy birthday to you! Turning 50 isn't so bad, you'll see. Truth be told, I absolutely dreaded it and "hated" turning 50. But now that I'm 53, I love being in my 50's (except for the start of the aches and pains, lol)...I feel much more comfortable with myself and who I am than I did when I was younger.

  30. Birthday merriment to you, Rue! Thank you for sharing these precious snippets of your life with us all...so lovely. I'll be turning 60 next year. This year one of my presents was finding a 60's retro 4-ft aluminum Christmas tree, similar to the one my family had when I was about 5 yrs old. I still need the color wheel and a Christmas CD of Alvin and the Chipmunks to complete the homage to my childhood. Good times! Your blog inspires me to reminisce :)

Happy Birthday! I have a few years on ya. Truly, we get smarter and more sure of ourselves with every year (and wrinkle I might add). It's not ALL good, no one wants to age and get old and feeble. But you know the alternative...lol!

I love to figure out floor plans! I do, I do, I do. I do it, with everything I see. Film, tv, magazine homes, blogger's homes. -grin- But I am not trying to "case your joint" to come and "knock it over"!!! REalllly!!!!!!

  43. Happy, happy birthday!! I hope you're doing something fun this weekend to celebrate. That picture of Bubba and the jack-o-lanterns is classic. Love it! :) We have pocket doors separating the family room from the kitchen. Our old cottage was an open floor plan (actually it was one room with two bedrooms), anywho, I logged enough hours of kids' tv and man cave shows while I was cooking to cure me of that style home. I love being able to shut the doors and block that bad tv out! ;)

  53. Happy belated Birthday! It seems like only a few years ago that I was 50 and now I'll be turning the big 7-0 my next birthday. How did that happen? lol! I don't feel this old, except after a day of painting...which I'm swearing off for good after all these projects are done. If they don't do me in first. ha!
I love your house, it's looks so happy and inviting. Take care and have a nice day!

  54. Happy belated birthday Rue. Your birthday is the same as my sister-in-law's birthday. You could be my daughter. Smile.

I loved your pumpkin carving and your photos too. Snow already...Yikes. We have had snow in Nov. but it is pretty rare. It is cold here today and it will freeze tonight. I like winter and snow. It reminds me of when I was a small child in MI. I actually grew up in Florida and lived there until we moved to the mountains of NC 8 years ago. We love it here.

Your pups are so cute. I think Cheri' would love to have a pup friend because we run the roads so much.We sure are happy we are home from France.

    Have a lovely week.

Thank you so much for leaving a comment. It means so much to me that you took the time and I read each and every one. If you don't have a blog, look for a response under your comment. I try to get to them within a few days :)

For some reason, the comment box doesn't always show up, so if you want to leave a comment, replying to someone else's comment seems to work. Also, I've had to switch from safari to chrome in order to comment on blogger, so that might be the issue. If not, you can always reach me via email, located on my side bar. Thank you!
