It was actually warm enough to sit outside today, for a little while.
Bubba decided to join us out on the front porch too.
The violas were perky.
The sun felt good on our skin.
And I noticed that the trees are starting to bloom.
Spring is finally coming...
and it's lovely.
Even if there is a foot or more of snow on the ground where you live, I promise it's just around the corner.
It'll get there eventually.
It always does ;)

We had a lovely day today, too. Bits of spring, I'll take them!
ReplyDeleteBtw, that is a cool light fixture feature on the corner of your house.
Thank you, Kimberly! :)
DeleteThank you for posting this - it was so lovely. We had a beautiful day was well. Your yard and view are stunning! I so enjoy seeing what you share. BTW, been meaning to tell you, I absolutely love your profile pic - the way you do your hair and make-up are retro beautiful. Hope you have a nice evening!
ReplyDeleteBig hug
Elizabeth
Awww.... thank you, Elizabeth! Right now my hair is in a ponytail and I have no makeup on, but you've given me the incentive to actually remedy that tomorrow, if I feel better ;)

We also had a wonderful day yesterday with the sun shining and washing hung out to dry! Now to get on with my list for spring cleaning. Your violas look so happy soaking up the sun, along with Bubba. Have a wonderful evening xx
ReplyDeleteYou just reminded me that I need to get my laundry line up. It's been sitting there for months waiting. I can't wait to have my clothes dried out in the fresh air :)

So glad you had some quality time outdoors. It certainly looked like a lovely day and the violas always speak of spring and joy.
ReplyDeleteHappy spring ~ FlowerLady
It was really nice and I think it helped with my flu bug :)
DeleteHappy Spring to you!
That looks very encouraging . love seeing Bubba sunning hisself also . I am ready for some pots of flowers .
ReplyDeleteI am going to get some flowers for my house anyway to have something new and alive in my house.
I would rather be outside in my flower beds than in the house cleaning .
Your yard looks nice after seeing just snow all winter
I think indoor flowers are a great idea! I know it helped me, when it was cold outside :)
DeleteHi Rue! Oh, it looks pretty where you live. Love the snap of the mountains and trees out back! Well, I'm encouraged but it's snowing this morning with flakes as big as quarters! I need some spring green. Hope you're doing well.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Thank you, Shelia! I hope Spring gets to your house soon :)

So. Many. Pangs. Of. JEALOUSY! Those flowers are soooo pretty. I just put in a huge order at Johnny's Seeds for my summer garden, and now I want Spring! My Chi's love to sun themselves as well :)
ReplyDeleteSorry, Jessica! I hope you can dig yourself out soon. I remember what it was like out there.
DeleteI hope you and the Chi's are staying warm :)

-happy sigh- how lovely..... the sun.... and those beautiful blue skies..... and spring flowers....
ReplyDeleteyes, I happen to be where the snow is still piled high, and is even falling again, as I type. and it is getting very tiresome. "oh bother" as Pooh says...
but, since there is nothing I can do about it, I will simply enjoy posts, such as these. thank you.
Tessa~
You're welcome and thank you, Tessa :)

Spring is hands down my favorite time of year and you've brought us there via your blog post, Rue. You have a gorgeous view of the hills from your yard! And I love the quirky little roof detail with the outdoor light. Sweet. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'm surrounded by mountains, but the backyard is too scary to show those views right now. Come Spring clean up, I'll share them :)
DeleteYou're welcome and thank you, Vickie!
xo
Thank you for this post, Rue. I can feel the warmth of the sun on my face, just as Bubba does. With higher temps ahead here in Nashville but a week ahead of rain, I'm going to hold on to your promise and remember the view from your yard.
ReplyDeleteDewena
It'll happen for you too, Dewena! I just know it :)

I love your signs of spring. We aren't there yet, but I did notice that the Lenten rose were starting to bloom!
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! It means that it's coming soon then ;)
DeleteBeautiful pictures. I could almost smell the flowers ;-)
ReplyDeleteLori from LL Farm
Thank you, Lori! :)
DeleteThere is a foot or more here...but looking at your flowers and green grass was a nice diversion. Send that spring weather my way, please! :)
ReplyDeleteI'll do the best I can, Kim! ;)

I am enjoying the spring weather here too, Rue. Your yellow violas are so pretty. Isn't it nice to just sit in the sun and relax in its warmth? I just planted my first pink flowers today in my garden.
ReplyDeleteHello there, Bubba.
~Sheri
Yes, yes it is. Yay for pink flowers!! :)
DeleteHe says "hi" back ;)
We are in Connecticut so I haven't seen grass in a very long time. It was much warmer today and they are saying we may hit 40 degrees this coming week. I am so very tired of this winter. It can't be over quickly enough. Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad it's warming up for you!
DeleteThank you :)
Love this promise of the spring to come you have shared, it is still snow covered here in the northeast but at least I know it's coming!
ReplyDeleteIt's coming! I promise :)
DeletePretty yellow pansies, Rue! Yes, we still ahve snow on the ground although our temperatures are going back up into the 50's and 60's this week. We has snow last Mother's Day so i've learned spring does not fully arrive till June here.
ReplyDeleteWe can't plant anything in the ground here until after Mother's day, so it's almost the same. Last time it snowed I brought the pansies inside the turret to save them. I think we have two more snows until it's over.

Thank you, Rue - I needed that! Though this week looks "delightful" for us here in northern IL...45 tomorrow and 52 on Tues, Wed, and Thurs. That should melt all the nasty snow on the ground! I can't wait until I can see the promise of growth on the trees and shoots coming out of the ground and pots of flowers on my porch once again.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad it's getting a little warmer for you. I know you need it, Melanie :)
DeleteLove your pup looking all snoozy and warm out there : )
ReplyDeleteHe loves the sun :)
DeleteWe had some beautiful weather in Missouri this weekend too!
ReplyDeleteYay! I'm so glad :)

Beautiful vibrant blue sky! Its a warm and pretty day here in Charleston and im headed out for my walk...if i see anything interesting i will post it later!
ReplyDeleteI hope you did! I'll be over to see it :)
DeleteThe violas look wonderful, delightful, summery ....... and as for those blue skies - heavenly.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that last Saturday in my part of the UK was great, Spring is just around the corner (we hope)
All the best Jan
I hope it is for you too, Jan :)
DeleteHi Rue, we are looking forward to setting outside later this week too as they predict us to reach in the 70's. Love your pics and your little sweetie is so cute.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful violas! Enjoy and think spring.
Hugs, CM
It's supposed to be in the 70s here this week too, Celestina :)
DeleteEnjoy the warm weather!
xo
Oh, what I would give to have some of your sunshine! It has been raining here for days - before it got dark there was almost 5 inches of rain in the gauge. (Can't see it in the dark but it is still coming down) that on top of a bum foot, I wish I had a bowl of chocolate eggs but I'm not going out in the rain to get them! I cant even take any pictures to post. 😢
ReplyDeleteAww.... I hope your foot feels better soon, Tina and I hope you finally got some chocolate eggs.

Today I wore a down coat, and I was way too warm in it! It got up to around 40, which feels downright balmy right about now. It should hit 50 by Wednesday which will melt a lot of the snow, and not a moment too soon.
ReplyDeleteYour part of the world looks interesting. A nice mix of rustic, dessert like landscapes with lots of lushness mixed in for good measure. It doesn't look like the houses are too close together either (a pet peeve of mine). The violas soothed my soul Rue. Thank you for sharing their beauty.
I'm glad you're finally getting warm there, Doreen :)
DeleteIt's funny how other people see my area. It just looks like the mountains to me, but I guess it would seem dessert like, unless you were actually from the dessert. No cactus here, thank goodness lol
You're so welcome!
xo
Beautiful photos Rue! Your happy Violas gave me a smile! Just like the smile your furbaby has basking in the sun! Cute!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing have a great week!
You're welcome, Christine!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Kim!
DeleteLove you :)
Thank you, Su :)
ReplyDeleteI don't blame Bubba for soaking up a few 'rays. I love the yellow violas! The mountain vista is extraordinary. Your house is like a gift box, one that has other boxes nested inside--it just keeps giving new and wonderful surprises.
