Bubba's new lookout

Bubba has found a new place to watch the goings on of the outside world.

He sits here everyday now.

Watching for the mailman.

A car passing by.

People and their families and/or their pups walking by.

The occasional visitor.

He's endlessly fascinated.

On one particular day I noticed he was staring rather intently without barking.

I decided to take a look myself and found a beautiful sunset.

So I grabbed my trusty camera, ran outside, and took a photo.

As I walked back towards the house....

I thought....

 "Maybe, just maybe...

dogs appreciate sunsets too."

And honestly, I think they really do ;)

  4. He found a great spot for his lookout. Bowie lays on the kitchen table in the morning sun. Dogs are the best aren't they? Bubba is such a cutie. Beautiful sunset too!

  6. Awwwww...this is so sweet! And that's a gorgeous window! I was glad to hear Bubba barks...my dogs bark at falling leaves. Sunsets? Think our pets use the skies, lightness and dark, and smells to mark time. How else would they know if they were home alone?

So glad to see you again and thanks for your visit, Rue!

  16. I believe they do, Rue. Otis likes nothing better than sitting on the threshold, the door open, and letting the wind blow through his fur while he seriously observes the view. Well, truthfully he likes his dinner better than that but I do get a kick out of his serenity while sitting in an open doorway, comfortably enjoying the outdoors from indoors.

Gosh, Rue, that second picture is a winner!

  23. Such a sweet story. Bubba is an observer, and we could all learn a lesson from him about not letting precious moments slip by without notice. The exterior shot of your home at dusk is breathtaking. Love it! Hugs.

  25. I'm positive they do Rue! Have you ever noticed how happy dogs and cats are when they are allowed to be out on a beautiful day? Or in my Caesar's case, a good snowfall? ;) I just had to bribe him with a bacon treat to come back into the house since we are having a mini blizzard outside. ;)

Thank you so much for leaving a comment. It means so much to me that you took the time and I read each and every one. If you don't have a blog, look for a response under your comment. I try to get to them within a few days :)

For some reason, the comment box doesn't always show up, so if you want to leave a comment, replying to someone else's comment seems to work. Also, I've had to switch from safari to chrome in order to comment on blogger, so that might be the issue. If not, you can always reach me via email, located on my side bar. Thank you!
