Summer in pictures

It's been a hot and busy summer...

of baking...

growing a pot of peppers, tomatoes and basil...

surprises that popped up...

wildlife...

and working on the potting shed.

Of dogs acting goofy...

or napping...

or posing...

And when it's too hot we're working on this house too.

Details soon ;)

I hope you're enjoying your summer and if you're not, remember that autumn is right around the corner :)

Random cottage wildlife

A doe and her babies.

One of many Quail in my garden.

A Finch looking at himself in the glass table.

A dove taking a bath in a puddle, after it rained, and another bird waiting his turn.

A deer in my neighbor's yard, after he emptied her bird feeder.

Quite proud of himself ;)

And lastly, a chipmunk that posed for me this morning :)

What wildlife have you seen lately?

"Beep beep"

I had a visitor yesterday.

Thank goodness Wile E Coyote wasn't chasing him.

He stayed for a little while, probably having a lizard for lunch, which I'm glad I wasn't a witness to.

Then he sauntered up the driveway and then went to my neighbor's house.

Maybe for some ACME tea to wash his lunch down?

Who knows... but I'm thankful he stopped by ;)

Speaking of being thankful....

All of your encouraging comments on my last post really warmed my heart.

Truly.

Thanks to you, I have all sorts of ideas in my head and I feel better knowing that you enjoy reading even the most mundane things that go on here.

I hope you all have a beautiful, heartwarming day :)

An unexpected guest

I was in the shower yesterday morning, when I heard Bubba and Mini suddenly howling and barking like someone was breaking in the house.

It was early, so I knew it couldn't be anyone I knew at the door, but because they were losing their minds, I thought I'd better check it out.

I jumped out, threw on my robe and saw this....

It turns out that I had an unexpected breakfast guest.

"Oh hi."

Yes, apparently deers love birdseed too.

That was when I decided it might be a good idea to move the birdseed onto a table inside the porch walls.

She's awful cute with that seed on her nose though, isn't she?
