Gone Fishin'

On Memorial Day, we headed out to a local lake for a picnic and some fishing.
When we got there the lake looked ominous.....

but we were still optimistic.

It was a little windy out there, but I didn't mind.

Eventually people started showing up on the dock, so we looked for a quieter place to fish.

We ended up in this pretty spot...

Me pretending to fish, but not very well:

What can I say? I'm obviously not a fisherman ;)

All in all it was a beautiful day and a fun one, even though we didn't catch a thing.

Maybe next time ;)

PS

All pictures were taken with our cellphones, because someone forgot their camera.

I'll bet you can guess who ;)

  6. It's pretty out there. I have to confess that fishing is boring to me. It's fun to be with that someone though. :)

  9. Looks as though you had a wonderful time whether you were the one pretending to fish or actually fishing! I would have been the one pretending to fish, I would have absolutely no idea how to fish!!! Well, perhaps I could work out how to fish for a compliment from hubby, but nothing else!! xx

  10. Rue, don't you look cute in your casual clothes. I still love to wear flannel shirts too, so I smiled when I saw these pictures. Your lake is pretty, and even though you didn't catch any fish, it sounds like it was a fun day. Getting back to nature is just what I need lately. And I think the phone pictures turned out good and different.

You have a sweet smile, Rue.

  21. You're the cutest 'Fisherman' this cabin girl has ever seen ;).

I thought your honey was going to have one of those hats with a rubber fish on it. After all, MY fisherman has one and he's the bees knees. lol

Thank you so much for leaving a comment. It means so much to me that you took the time and I read each and every one. If you don't have a blog, look for a response under your comment. I try to get to them within a few days :)

For some reason, the comment box doesn't always show up, so if you want to leave a comment, replying to someone else's comment seems to work. Also, I've had to switch from safari to chrome in order to comment on blogger, so that might be the issue. If not, you can always reach me via email, located on my side bar. Thank you!
